Operation Komando: Support Our Troops
To support U. S. troops in Iraq, Kim Komando will dedicate two hours of her nationally syndicated radio talk program to calls from those troops.

In addition, Kim has begun an on-going effort to supply the troops with everyday items that are difficult to find on U. S. bases in Iraq.

Operation KomandoThrough "Operation Komando," Kim is asking listeners to send packages from a "Wish List" posted on the Web site directly to troops in Iraq. The list is comprised of everyday items needed by troops, including batteries, DVD movies, cookies, watches, dried fruit, razors, baby wipes, printer cartridges, spices and more. The items received will be distributed in the field by traveling Chaplains.

On her April 7 and April 14 shows, Kim will take calls in the second hour from troops in Iraq. The calls on April 7 will be exclusively from the 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry Regiment (Iowa National Guard), known as the "Ironman" Battalion, stationed at Al Asad Air Base in western Iraq.

Operation KomandoOn April 14, calls in the second hour will be from units assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 34th Infantry Division, known as "The Red Bulls," at Camp Adder, Tallil Air Base, in southern Iraq, and soldiers from Camp Scania in central Iraq.

With the help of participating business contributors, each caller will receive a "Thank you for serving our country" gift package including a video camera, MP3 player, thumb drive, video games, a $100 gift certificate to use online and more.

The caller’s family will receive a Webcam and other items that can be used to communicate with their family member.

Please feel free to link to Operation Komando if you would like to spread the word about this effort. Artwork and instructions are available on the site. Thank you for supporting our troops!
